PERSADA INDONESIA DECLARES SUPPORT FOR MEGA-PRO DUO
Jakarta, June 11 (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Youth Brotherhood (Persada Indonesia) association has declared its support for presidential candidate Megawati Soekarnoputri and her running mate Prabowo Subianto (Mega-Pro pair).
Persada Indonesia chairman Taufik Hidayat said the political declaration to support the Mega-Pro pair was formalized here on Thursday.
He said the youth organization would act as a supporting media to determine the mood of national leadership in the future.
"With full awareness and strong commitment, Persada Indonesia supports the Megawati-Prabowo ticket for the upcoming July 8 presidential election," Taufik Hidayat said.
The event was attended by around 500 youths from Jakarta and Mega-Pro campaign team members Fadli Zon and Hasto Kristanto.
The joint declaration between Mega-Pro campaign team and Persada Indonesia was signed by Fadli Zon and Taufik Hidayat.
Fadli Zon said presidential candidate Megawati and her running mate Prabowo Subianto had a commitment to giving their attention to the condition of the Indonesian community including its youths and farmers.
"The Megawati-Prabowo pair have made a political contact with the youth organization and farmers to improve their condition if they are elected president and vice president in the July election," Fadli Zon said.
He also reminded the youths to vote for Megawati and Prabowo in the upcoming presidential election on July 8, 2009.
Before making the declaration at Gedung Joang 45 on Menteng Raya street, around 500 youths of Persada Indonesia marched from Tugu Tani intersection to the declaration venue at Gedung Joang.
