Qatar's Labour Ministry Receives 5,525 Recruitment Requests in February

Doha, March 05 (QNA) - The statistical bulletin issued by the Ministry of Labour for the month of February 2023 showed that about 5,525 recruitment requests were received, and about 3,004 requests to modify the profession were received. According to the bulletin, the ministry approved 3,862 recruitment requests and rejected 1,663, while the total number of requests to modify the profession was about 3,004, of which 2,961 were approved and 43 were rejected. On the other hand, the number of work permit applications submitted to the Ministry during the month of February amounted to about 1,768, including 891 for permit renewal, 607 for issuing a new permit, 269 for canceling issued permits, and one request for a replacement for a lost one. In terms of inspection visits to labour recruitment offices, the statistical bulletin showed that the ministry carried out about 217 inspection tours of recruitment offices, with 173 visits in which no observations were recorded, and issued 40 warnings to remove a violation and ban two offices, and provided advice and guidance to two offices. During the month of February, the Labour Inspection Department carried out intensive inspection campaigns to monitor the extent to which establishments comply with the laws and ministerial decisions concerned with regulating the labour market in the country, with a total number of 4,294 inspection visits in various regions, which resulted in the seizure of 739 violations and the issuance of 655 warnings. With regard to labour complaints, the statistical bulletin showed that the Labour Relations Department received complaints from the establishment's workers against the establishment with about 2374 complaints, of which 606 complaints were settled, 288 of them were referred to the labour dispute settlement committees, and about 1480 complaints remained under procedure, and the Labour Relations Department received 86 communications From the public and all settled, while Labour Relations Department also received 86 complaints from the public and all of them were settled.
