President of The Planning And Statistics Authority Meets UN Population Fund Director

Doha, March 06 (QNA) - HE President of the Planning and Statistics Authority and President of the Permanent Population Committee Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, met with Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund Dr. Natalia Kanem, Regional Director of the United Nations Population Fund for the Arab States Laila Bakr. His Excellency reviewed the efforts of the State of Qatar in dealing early with population and developmental issues and the achievements it has made in this regard. His Excellency also appreciated the fruitful cooperation relations between the Committee and the United Nations Population Fund, which were represented by the conclusion of a number of related agreements, and benefiting from the Fund's expertise in following up and evaluating the work of the Committee and its activities. Technical and scientific, in accordance with the international orientations in the areas of population and with the characteristics of the Qatari society. For her part, Dr. Kanem thanked the State of Qatar for its continuous support to the United Nations system at the global level, and to support the work of the United Nations Population Fund in particular, noting the technical support that the fund can provide regarding data analysis of the sustainable development goals, including developing the second voluntary national review, as well as supporting Qatar National Vision 2030 in the areas of reproductive health, adolescents and gender, expressing at the same time the fund's readiness to provide support to the government in its approach to fulfilling its commitments to support and empower women and youth to help build capacity, adaptation and resilience to climate change.
