TELKOM PLANS TO ISSUE BONDS WORTH RP3 TRILLION
TELKOM PLANS TO ISSUE BONDS WORTH RP3 TRILLION
Jakarta, June 13 (ANTARA) - State telecommunications operator PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) is planning to issue rupiah-denominated bonds worth Rp1 trillion-Rp3 trillion in 2010 to meet its need for capital expenditure (capex).
Telkom's capex in 2010 was projected to reach Rp21 trillion, or about the same as that of this year, Telkom Finance Director Sudiro Asno said following a general meeting of the company's shareholders here on Friday.
He further said PT Telkomsel, a cellular unit of PT Telkom, was also exploring the possibility of issuing rupiah-and dollar-denominated bonds next year.
But he stopped short of revealing the amount of the bonds and the objective of issuing the bonds.
To meet its need for capex estimated at Rp14 trillion this year, Telkomsel would seek loans, he said.
In July 2009, Telkomsel would sign a "club deal" with Bank Central Asia (BCA), Bank Mandiri, Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) for loans totaling Rp7 trillion, he said.
Also this year, BNI, BRI, Bank Mandiri, BCA, and the Government Investment Center (PIP) are expected to disburse a syndicated loan of Rp2.5 trillion to Telkom. The loans are payable in 3-5 years.
