WHO Regional Director For Eastern Mediterranean Briefed on Services of HMC's Tobacco Control Center

Doha, March 19 (QNA) - World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari paid a visit to Hamad Medical Corporation's (HMC) Tobacco Control Center where he was briefed on services provided by the Center.
Head of HMC's Tobacco Control Center Dr. Ahmad Al Mulla said: "During the meeting, we presented an overview of the activities, services, plans and future programs of the Tobacco Control Center. The discussion touched on ways of cooperation with the World Health Organization to support these programs and plans, especially when taking into consideration that our center offers its services to all countries of the eastern mediterranean region." For his part, Dr. Al Mandhari confirmed that necessary measures will be taken to provide technical support to the Center to facilitate its work and maximize the benefits from the services it provides. In 2017, HMC's Tobacco Control Center has become the first center in Qatar and the GCC region to be designated by the WHO as a collaborating center for treating tobacco dependence. (QNA)
