SBY-BOEDIONO TICKET OPTIMISTIC TO WIN IN E KALIMANTAN
Samarinda, June 15 (ANTARA) - Presidential aspirant Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and his running mate Boediono are optimistic to win the July election in East Kalimantan.
Spokesman of SBY-Boediono duo's campaign team in East Kalimantan, Bambang Pranghutomo, said he was optimistic that the pair would grab about 63 percent of the votes of more than one million voters in the province.
"We have a target to snatch 63 percent of the votes for the SBY-Boediono pair in East Kalimantan. There are around 2.6 million voters in the province and more than one million of them are expected to vote for the SBY-Boediono ticket," Bambang Pranghutomo said here on Monday.
Referring to the result of the recent legislative election in which 24 political parties voted for Yudhoyono's Democratic Party, Pranghutomo said it would be more than sufficient to lead to a victory of the SBY-Boediono pair into the upcoming July 8 presidential electionin East Kalimantan.
"The number of votes from the 24 supporting parties of people coalition should be maintained in the July presidential election. We hope all the parties will continue to maintain their respective constituents for for the SBY-Boediono ticket," Pranghutomo said.
Based on the data of the legislative election, he said only two districts namely Kubar and Panjam Paser Utara needed serious management in the July election.
"Of the 14 districts/municipalities in East Kalimantan, two did not meet the vote percentage of Democratic Party in the legislative election. But we are optimistic that SBY and Boediono will win the election in the province," Pranghutomo said.
