Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Publishes First Issue of International Scientific Journal "Al-Waqf"

 

 

Doha, May 09 (QNA) - The Centre for Endowment Studies at the General Administration of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs published the first issue of its international quarterly scientific journal under the title "Endowment". The journal's website was also launched, based on the need for more intellectual and academic efforts to discuss emerging endowment issues.

In this context, Director of General Department of Endowments and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanim Al-Thani stated that it is concerned with publishing research in the field of endowments, Islamic economics, and charitable work. It aims to provide an opportunity for researchers and specialists to arbitrate and publish their scientific research and studies in the field of waqf, economics, Islamic finance and charitable work in both Arabic and English. It also aims to spread knowledge awareness by making these researches and studies available to beneficiaries through paper and electronic publishing media. The advisory board of the journal includes a group of specialized and prominent academics from various Arab and Islamic countries.

The goals of the journal revolve around contributing to the service of the Islamic endowment by publishing and making available scientific research, and serving researchers in the field of Islamic endowment by arbitrating and publishing their research, providing the scientific movement and endowment institutions with the knowledge and developments of the endowment industry, transferring its experiences and evaluation, and extracting the cultural heritage in the Islamic endowment and investing it in knowledge and practice.

Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Thani explained that the journal adopts the highest arbitration standards and the values of scientific honesty, objectivity, transparency, innovation and leadership.

The first edition of the journal included four research papers dealing with vital topics, which are Waqf and Sustainability, accounting standards for the endowment - a comparative study, A-Waqf on applications of artificial intelligence, and exploring the interactions between endowments and digital data.
