Americans familiarized with tourism potential of Kyrgyzstan in Washington

Bishkek, May 10, 2023. / Kabar /. Embassy of Kyrgyzstan to the United States held a cultural and tourist event on May 6 for local residents and tourists dedicated to Kyrgyz culture, traditions, food, music and national games.

The diplomatic mission said that this event was held along with the embassies of more than 60 other countries accredited in Washington, DC, with the information support of the local government.

The event was opened by Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to the United States, Bakyt Amanbaev, who delivered a speech, familiarized the participants with the purpose of the event, told the Americans in detail about the rich history of Kyrgyzstan and tourism opportunities.

The event was attended by heads and employees of diplomatic missions located in Washington, as well as more than 5,000 representatives of the local population and tourists.

During the event, large rooms on the first floor of the embassy building and the courtyard were decorated as exhibitions reflecting the tourism opportunities of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A special photo exhibition was also organized, reflecting the tourism opportunities of our country, a special creative group from Kyrgyzstan was invited, a yurt was built, centuries-old crafts of the Kyrgyz people were demonstrated, as well as felt and wooden handicrafts of interest to tourists.

In addition, the Kyrgyz national game "Ordo" was presented at the event with the participation of famous Kyrgyz athletes, and the essence of the game was explained to the American audience. During the event, a table was laid, Kyrgyz pilaf, boorsok, maksym, chakchak and other national dishes were presented to tourists.

This event was held with the permission of the authorities of Washington, DC, as part of the famous international festival "Passport DC - Around the World Embassy Tour".
