Kyrgyzstan starts construction of new plant for assembly and production of passenger cars

Bishkek, May 12, 2023. / Kabar /. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov took part in the solemn laying of a capsule for the construction of a new Kyrgyz-Uzbek plant for the assembly and production of cars and commercial vehicles "Altyn Tulpar Unaa Kurulush" in the village of Ak-Suu, Chui region.

The press service of the Cabinet said that speaking at the ceremony, the head of the cabinet of ministers expressed gratitude to the presidents of the two states, who made a great contribution to strengthening the unity of the two fraternal republics.

“Today, friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has reached a new level. Mutual visits are carried out, which are confirmed by agreements on strengthening and expanding multifaceted cooperation between our countries. The proof of this is today's laying of a capsule for the construction of a plant for the assembly and production of passenger cars. This is a strategically important project for both countries,” said Akylbek Zhaparov.

The agreement on the construction of the plant on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic was reached during the official visit of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Kyrgyz Republic in January 2023.

At the initial stage, the production capacity of the plant will be 10,000 vehicles per year, and more than 1,000 permanent jobs to be created.
