Saudi Vice President of Olympic and Paralympic Games Meets President of 2026 Winter Games

Milan, May 19, 2023, SPA -- Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC), met on Thursday with the CEO of the Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee for Winter Games, Andrea Varnier, in Milan, Italy.
During the meeting, the prince was briefed on the great efforts made by the Organizing Committee for the Winter Games to provide high-quality logistic services to the delegations' departments and answer their inquiries to ensure the success of the winter session before its early start.
Meanwhile, the SOPC work team visited the facilities and halls that will host the 2026 Olympics.
The meeting was attended by Princess Dalil Bint Nahar bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, the CEO of the Asian Games (Riyadh 2034); the CEO and Secretary General of the SOPC Abdulaziz bin Ahmed Baeshen; and Managing Director of Sport at NEOM Jan Paterson.
Italy will host the Winter Olympics for the third time, from February 6 to 22, 2026, to be held in 14 facilities in Cortina and Milan. About 3,500 athletes from 93 countries are expected to participate.
The Italian Olympiad Organizing Committee announced the tournament slogan "The Future," which won the highest percentage of electronic votes (74% out of 871,000 votes from 169 countries).
