Doha, June 05 (QNA) - Qatari newspapers focused in their editorials Monday on HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, marking the beginning of a tour to several countries in Central Asia. This visit is expected to be a significant milestone in enhancing the cooperation between the two friendly countries, as the summit that HH the Amir will hold with HE President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is expected to contribute to pushing bilateral relations to broader horizons.
The newspapers also highlighted the first edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2023, organized by the Ministry of Municipality, under the theme of 'Regulations and Legislation for an Optimal Quality of Life and a Sustainable Real Estate Industry." HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani inaugurated the forum, which is attended by 1,500 leaders, decision-makers, experts and stakeholders in the local and international real estate sector.
The forum highlights the best regional and global experiences and practices related to this vital sector, which Qatar attaches great importance to and constantly seeks to develop, as it is considered a secure investment and an indicator of development, infrastructure strength, and an important factor within Qatar's National Vision 2030.
The newspapers also shed light on the significant role played by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the representative of the private sector and various productive sectors in the country. It has played a prominent role over the past five years, both in overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic at the local level and in contributing to Qatar's historic achievement of hosting the World Cup 2022.
Under the title "Stronger Relations," Al-Watan newspaper said in its editorial that thanks to the wise guidance of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, Qatar enjoys strong relationships with countries around the world, based on mutual respect and the goal of preserving international security and peace. It is certain that His Highness's visit Monday to the Republic of Uzbekistan, marking the beginning of a tour that includes the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Tajikistan, will contribute to strengthening friendship ties with these four countries. It will also enhance existing cooperation by exploring fruitful economic and investment opportunities that will benefit all parties, for the greater good of our countries and peoples.
The relations between Qatar and the Central Asian countries included in the tour are strong, and His Highness's tour will further solidify them while opening new horizons for cooperation that serve common interests and pave the way for additional partnerships in various fields of mutual interest. It will also create more opportunities for future collaboration with these countries, benefiting all parties involved, especially considering that these countries are part of the United Nations system and work towards achieving its goals of peace, security and stability, the paper noted.
Al-Watan concluded by saying that HH the Amir's visit is important, especially in light of the developments witnessed in the region and the world, which call for consultation and coordination to build positions that help confront challenges and confidently look towards the future. This requires working together and in a joint manner to achieve the aspirations of everyone by expanding partnerships and exploring available opportunities to enhance cooperation in all economic, educational, and cultural fields.

The cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan, established in November 1997, has witnessed significant and rapid development, especially in recent times. This is in line with the desire of the leadership of both countries to enhance bilateral relations, promote closer ties between the two peoples and strengthen collaborative efforts. Last month, the third round of political dialogue was held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, and the Qatari embassy was inaugurated in the Uzbek capital, which further signifies the growing relationship between the two countries, the newspaper added.
The newspaper noted the distinguished level of relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Uzbekistan and the keenness of the two countries to strengthen them.
Al-Sharq newspaper concluded by saying that the importance of HH the Amir's visit to Tashkent on Monday stems from the fact that it establishes a new phase of long-term cooperation and partnership with Uzbekistan and opens the way for a comprehensive strategic dialogue in light of the common denominators and the historical and civilizational ties that bind the peoples of the two countries for a more prosperous future for the two friendly countries.
Under the title "Qatar Real Estate Forum...Platform for Urban Development", Al-Raya newspaper referred to the first edition of the Qatar Real Estate Forum 2023 which is organized by the Ministry of Municipality under the theme of 'Regulations and Legislation for an Optimal Quality of Life and a Sustainable Real Estate Industry.
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani inaugurated the forum, in which 1,500 leaders, decision makers, experts, and actors in the real estate from Qatar and beyond participated, the paper said.
The newspaper added that the forum sheds light on the best regional and global experiences and practices related to this vital sector, which the State of Qatar attaches great importance to and always seeks to develop, as it is a safe investment and an indicator of development and strength of infrastructure as well as an important factor within the Qatar National Vision 2030.
The paper stressed that Qatar, through this pioneering forum, aims to create a sustainable real estate industry that meets developments and simulates the future, as the forum provides a dialogue platform, in which investors and real estate professionals gather to exchange global and local experiences to upgrade this industry and build it on sound foundations.
The paper indicated that the State of Qatar, which seeks to build a knowledge economy and localize technology, will provide through the forum an opportunity to review the latest technologies in the field of construction, building and establishing smart cities in line with Qatar Vision 2030, by transforming the economy in Qatar into a knowledge-based economy by expanding the establishment of smart cities.
In this regard, the paper noted HE Minister of Municipality Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie's assertion that the future of the real estate sector in the State of Qatar is promising, thanks to several factors, including the high rate of economic growth, and the security enjoyed by the country, as it ranks first in the list of the safest countries for the fifth year in a row. Qatar also has an infrastructure that is among the best in the world, including highways, an integrated transportation network, and an airport at the highest levels, and a highly advanced health sector, as well as an educational sector that competes with the largest educational systems around the globe and freehold areas.
Al-Raya concluded its editorial by saying that the State of Qatar has ambitious plans to achieve urban development in a balanced and integrated manner, in a way that preserves the quality of life and sustainability. Therefore, the State has taken many pioneering and important steps to enhance this vital sector and continue its development, especially since the Qatar Real Estate Forum comes following the issuance of the Amiri Order establishing the Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
In another matter, Lusail newspaper said in an article by its editor-in-chief entitled "Qatar Chamber: New Challenges Requiring Exceptional Solutions" that the past five years constituted a milestone in terms of the Qatari economy, as it witnessed exceptional events at the global and local levels.
The newspaper pointed out that in 2020, the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, which led to a closure of borders and production factories and impacted aspects of life in all countries, posing a significant challenge to the ability of the public and private sectors to overcome challenges and find appropriate solutions to get out of this economic crisis that occurs for the first time in history. The paper added that Qatar's hosting of the World Cup 2022 constituted a historic event that required a preparation for more than ten years, but the pace of achievement increased further during the five years preceding the tournament, whether in terms of infrastructure projects, sports facilities projects, and sport event management projects, which benefited the national economy.
The newspaper underlined that the two historical events posed a prominent challenge for the various institutions and entities in the public and private sectors, whether in overcoming the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic or maximizing the benefit of hosting the World Cup in the State of Qatar and receiving the fans who attend the matches and learn about the culture of the State of Qatar.
The paper noted the prominent role played by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry as the representative of the private sector and various productive sectors in the country over the past five years, whether in overcoming the effects of the pandemic at the local level or in contributing to the historic achievement of the State of Qatar by hosting the World Cup.
The paper also noted the Chamber's launch of "Takatuf" Initiative, which included two tracks, the first is to support the State's efforts in confronting the Corona virus, by presenting initiatives from the private sector, and the second to urge large companies to support small companies affected by the precautionary measures.
In conclusion, Lusail affirmed that as a result of those efforts, and in coordination with government entities, the national economy succeeded in overcoming the crisis and returning to pre-COVID-19 levels, as private sector exports in 2022 reached record levels of about QR 33 billion, with a growth rate of 25 percent in 2021. This affirms the success achieved by the concerned authorities in overcoming the crisis that affected various economies of the world.
At the Arab level, English-language newspaper The Peninsula hailed Qatar's prominent role in making peace and stability in Sudan and during the Darfur peace process, which led to the signing of the Doha Peace Document, and the subsequent implementation of development and reconstruction projects there.
Under the headline "Qatar’s support for Sudan", the paper said that Qatar gives priority to stopping the current fighting there and fully supports the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in calming the situation.
The paper said that the Qatari airbridge continues to provide medical, relief and humanitarian aid to those affected since the start of the fighting in Sudan, as the ninth plane took off to Port Sudan on May 29, carrying 50 tonnes of food and evacuating 199 people, bringing the total of those evacuated from Sudan who hold Qatari residency to 1,620 people.
The Peninsula said in conclusion that Qatar is among the biggest Arab investors in the country. Qatari Diar announced the Mushairab project in Sudan in 2006, while Hassad Food signed a $1 billion deal in 2009 to lease farmland in the African country. Qatar Museums launched the Qatar-Sudan Archaeological Project in 2012. (QNA)
