UDST President To QNA: Prime Minister's Sponsorship Of UDST Graduation Ceremony Affirms Great Interest In Applied Education

Doha, June 17 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) will celebrate the graduation of the 2023 batch of its students at the Qatar National Convention Center on Tuesday. UDST President Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi said in an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs' sponsorship of the graduation ceremony of university students confirms the great interest attached by the State to the higher education sector, especially applied education. Dr. Al Naemi noted that this sponsorship is also an affirmation of the wise government's interest in the applied fields needed by the State of Qatar in the sectors of economy, engineering, informatics, artificial intelligence, data science, cybersecurity and software engineering. It is also an incentive and support for graduates and encouragement for members of society and students in particular to join the UDST, which is a confirmation of the confidence placed by the government in university outputs. About 780 male and female students will graduate on Tuesday in all disciplines, most of which are in engineering, management, accounting, financial technology, digital marketing, health sciences and informatics, the UDST President. He noted the list of the 8 new programs that the university launched recently and was carefully developed will be available for the Fall 2023 semester. The list of programs includes Bachelor's degree in marine engineering, smart manufacturing engineering, software engineering, and midwifery. In addition to a post-diploma Bachelor in Midwifery, a Master's program in sustainable tourism management, a post-graduate diploma in interprofessional neonatal intensive care, and a post-graduate diploma in STEM/TVET education. Dr. Al Naemi congratulated the graduates and their parents, wishing them a practical life full of work in the service of their community and country. (QNA)
