QatarDebate And IHU Sign MoU To Strengthen Cooperation

Doha, June 20 (QNA) - QatarDebate Centre, a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, announced signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Turkish Ibn Khaldun University (IHU) to strengthen cooperation and provide a package of programmes that serve the educational community, within the international partnerships on which the Centre has been working since its inception. Executive Director of QatarDebate Centre Dr Hayat Abdulla Maarafi and President of Ibn Khaldun University Atilla Arkan signed the memorandum. In a statement, the Centre explained that under this memorandum, the parties seek to explore opportunities for cooperation in the academic areas related to the debates, the most important of which is the development of curricula, communication skills among learners, exchange of experiences in organizing events, tournaments, training workshops and others, and provide training opportunities for students, teachers, and judges. As well as research cooperation and capacity-building, and work on graduating a generation of young people capable of critical thinking and acceptance skills. Moreover, IHU hosted most of the 6th International Schools Debating Championship in Arabic Language in 2022. Thus, The QatarDebate Centre looks forward to strengthening the bridges of its cooperation with partners in Turkiye to serve its message in the field of debate dissemination, and its work to make a positive impact through its organized events in the country.
