Qatar's MoECC To Launch Corporate Environmental Sustainability Book In September

 
Doha, June 20 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) unveiled the details of Corporate Environmental Sustainability conference which is due to be convened on Sept. 12, 2023, pointing out that the conference will feature the launch of a first-of-its-kind book on corporate environmental sustainability to highlight Qatari companies' efforts and their achievements in environmental sustainability. This came during a press conference held at Msheireb Museums in the presence of key sponsors of the "Corporate Environmental Sustainability.... Reports & Achievements" book which highlights the outstanding achievements provided by companies to ensure environmental sustainability, preserve, and promote it with all available methods and potential. Commenting on this occasion, Environmental Expert and Engineering Consultant at MoECC Dr. Mohammad Saif Al Kuwari said the release of the book comes to document the private companies' achievements, along with their efforts in environment sustainability within a national conference that discusses modern and sophisticated methods and techniques to safeguard and enhance the environment and its sustainability in Qatar. He pointed out that the conference will feature the participation of a host of scientists and researchers in the environmental field to be an opportunity to share expertise, information, and data in sustainable environment and come out with scientific and applicable recommendations. Al Kuwari outlined that MoECC seeks to exert all efforts to raise the level of environmental action across the country and promote awareness that would ensure protection for Qatari environment and preserve its resources to keep up with global evolutions and transformations in this field without prejudice to future generation's needs from natural resources, in pursuit of achieving a maximum rate of prosperity, welfare and life quality for Qatar's population in conformity with Qatar National Vision 2030. Manager of Quality and Safety Department at the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" Dr Ali Muhammad Al Marri said Ashghal continues enormous efforts that aim to integrate and apply the sustainability principles within its strategic plan and revealed that numerous initiatives have been implemented at projects sites to ensure application of the concept of sustainability and environment protection in commensurate with Qatar National Vision 2030. Executive Director of Business Relations at Hassad Food Mubarak Al Sahouti outlined that company's experiences that are pertinent to environmental sustainability and prominent achievements will be presented, in addition to discussing the most important challenges and laying out effective solutions through the conference platform. Director of government relations and public affairs at Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros. Co. Dr. Iman Ali Al-Ansari highlighted the new strategy adopted by the company through which it has reformulated the corporate environmental sustainability that seeks to enhance the environmental and societal responsibility in cars sector. For his part, director of the health, security, safety, and environment department at Mwani Qatar Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al Marzouqi asserted that preserving and sustaining environment for the current and future generations have been crucial in all constructions phases of Hamad Port which were evidently demonstrated in the initiatives that were implemented to protect biodiversity.
