Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee Grants Qatar Exemplary Achievement Award

 
Washington, June 20 (QNA) - Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) honored the State of Qatar through granting it the Exemplary Achievement Award in appreciation of Qatar's outstanding achievements in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament and its dedication to promoting culture, heritage, and Arab identity. Under the visionary leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the State of Qatar has made significant strides in championing Arab culture and values. The successful organization and execution of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 showcased the region's ability to host world-class events while providing an unparalleled experience for international visitors. The ADC stressed that Qatar's commitment to showcasing the richness and diversity of Arab heritage was evident throughout the tournament, and their efforts have left a lasting impact on the global stage. HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United States Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad Al-Thani received the award on behalf of the State of Qatar during the annual dinner ceremony that was held by ADC, with the participation of the community leaders, activists and scholars. The event serves as a platform for fostering dialogue and networking among the Arab-American community.. In his speech on this occasion, HE Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad Al-Thani said: "As hosts of the most diverse and welcoming World Cup in history, we were able to change perceptions about the Arab and Islamic world through our warm hospitality and vibrant local culture. The Qatar World Cup broke down cultural barriers, shattered misconceptions, and highlighted commonalities across communities. Having hosted hundreds of global sporting events over the years, our goal is to build on the success of the FIFA World Cup and host more mega events, while continuing to support opportunities for other regional countries and smaller nations to host similar events in the future." For his part, ADC National Board Chairman Dr. Safa Rifka expressed his admiration and appreciation for the achievements made by the State of Qatar, adding that the State of Qatar set a new standard in hosting global events by maintaining and promoting the essence of Arab culture. "We are thrilled to honor them with the Exemplary Achievement Award, as their dedication to fostering cross-cultural understanding and unity within the Arab community is truly inspiring." (QNA)
