AG0 COORDINATING WITH POLICE TO ARREST DJOKO TJANDRA
Jakarta, June 17 (ANTARA) - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) is coordinating with the police in its effort to seize noted businessman Djoko Tjandra, a convict in a corruption case.
The prosecutor's office summoned Djoko Tjandra, the owner of PT Era Giat Prima, on Tuesday for the execution of a ruling of the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court ruled earlier to meet the AGO's request for a review of the lower court's decision acquiting Djoko Tjandra and former central bank governor Syahril Sabirin in connection with the cessie case worth Rp546.468 billion.
Djoko and Sabirin were each sentenced to two years in jail and a fine of Rp15 million while the evidence in the form of money totalling Rp546.468 billion put in an account in Bank Permata was confiscated and returned to the state.
The AGO spokesman, Jasman Pandjaitan, said the coordination was made in view of the police's wide network.
"We expect the police to help find him or give information regarding the whereabouts of Djoko Tjandra," he said.
