SQ TO OPERATE FOUR DAILY FLIGHTS SINGAPORE-MANILA
Denpasar, June 17 (ANTARA) - Singapore Airlines, designated as SQ in international aviation call-sign, has just announced that they will add a fourth daily flight between Singapore and Manila which starts in the next 10 July.
The email ANTARA received in Denpasar, Tuesday, states the increase from three to four daily flights, operated by the Boeing B-777 family of aircraft, will expand capacity between Singapore and Manila, by more than 20 percent.
This has been made possible as a result of recent bilateral air services consultations between Singapore and the Philippines.
"The frequency increase on this route underscores the strong and growing economic, business and tourism links between Singapore and the Philippines. It also improves the connectivity of Manila to the rest of the world," said Singapore Airlines Executive Vice President Marketing and the Regions, Huang Cheng Eng.
The scheduling of the four services to depart and arrive at various times during the day between the two cities, Huang says, gives customers more options to choose a flight which better suits their travel needs.
SQ916 will depart Singapore at 14.10hrs local time and arrive in Manila at 17.45hrs at the same day.
The return flight, SQ921, will depart Manila at 18.50hrs and arrive in Singapore at 22.20hrs, also at the same day.
To give customers more flight options to suit their travel needs and to reduce transit times for onward departures from Singapore Changi Airport, Singapore Airlines will retime one of its present Manila services.
SQ912 will be retimed to depart Singapore at 12.10hrs and arrive in Manila at 1545hrs, while the return flight, SQ919 will leave Manila at 16.50hrs and arrive in Singapore at 20.20hrs local time.
Before this programme begin, SQ has had a two flights between Singapore-Manila. SQ910 depart from Changi at 09.40hrs local time and arrive in Manila at 13.15hrs local time, and SQ918 which depart from Changi at 17.05hrs local time and arrive in Manila at 20.40hrs local time.
As the return flight from Manila to Changi, it has flight SQ915, departs from Manila at 08.20hrs local time and arrive in Singapore at 11.50hrs in the local time. Besides, flight SQ917 which departs from the capital city of the Philippines at 14.20hrs and arrive in Singapore at 17.50hrs at the local time.***2***
