Qatar's Ministry Of Culture Organizes Workshop On National Identity, Volunteering Work

Doha, July 26 (QNA) - Wijdan Cultural Center, an affiliate of the Ministry of Culture, organized a workshop on Wednesday in collaboration with Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) which addressed the national identity from volunteering work perspective. The workshop was presented by Director of Training and Institutional Communication Department at the Center Omar Shams Al Din where he highlighted the definition of volunteering work values, methods of promoting national identity and development service through a three-pronged core theme, including relationship between national identity values with volunteering, role of young people in promoting volunteering values in the community, in addition to the effective engagement in providing models for volunteering projects that promote national identity values. The volunteering work is a core pillar in building community, stemming from the intrinsic motivation which aims to achieve the public interest of communities, he outlined, pointing out that the importance of volunteering work lies in individuals' awareness and recognition of their role and its impact on the public interest.
