Minister of Foreign Affairs Receives Phone Call from Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark

Riyadh, August 01, 2023, SPA -- The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, has received a phone call from the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen.
During the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's total rejection of all attempts to desecrate the Holy Quran, and its demand to take immediate measures to stop these extremist acts that attempt to undermine the heavenly books and provoke the feelings of Muslims around the world.
Prince Faisal said that extremists have exploited freedom of expression to incite hatred, and that they do not only seek to criticize the Islamic religion, but rather their goal is to provoke the Islamic societies, which may not serve Denmark at the international level, adding that the beneficiaries of these practices are only extremists.
The Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs expressed his country's condemnation of attempts to burn copies of the Holy Quran, expressing his regret over these provocative acts. He added that his country's government had previously expressed its condemnation of these practices.
