Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Chairs Cabinet Session

Jeddah, August 22, 2023, SPA -- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held today at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
The Cabinet was briefed on the contents of the phone call HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received from the prime minister of the United Kingdom, with whom he discussed cooperation and exchanged views on developments in regional and international arenas.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the Cabinet session, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said that the Cabinet tackled recent actions taken by the Kingdom, particularly those related to cooperation with other countries and multilateral coordination through the UN, Islamic and Arab organizations, and G20.
The Cabinet reviewed the measures taken toward implementing the agreement to resume diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, including having ambassadors from both countries carrying out their duties, and said it hoped the new relations will be based on common interests and mutual respect.
The Cabinet was also briefed on a number of issues on its agenda, and issued the following decisions:
First: Authorizing the minister of foreign affairs, or a deputy, to sign with the Gulf Health Council a draft headquarters agreement.
Second: Authorizing the minister of Islamic affairs, or a deputy, to discuss with the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of Islamic affairs.
Third: Approving a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of water resources and irrigation between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
Fourth: Authorizing the mayor of Riyadh Municipality, or a deputy, to discuss with the Seoul Metropolitan Government in the Republic of Korea a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation concerning city management and operation.
Fifth: Authorizing the minister of tourism, or a deputy, to discuss with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in the People's Republic of China a draft memorandum of understanding to facilitate the travel of Chinese tourists to the Kingdom.
Sixth: Authorizing the Minister of Economy and Planning, or a deputy, to hold talks with the Swiss side on a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Economy and Planning and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of the Swiss Confederation for cooperation in the economic field.
Seventh: Authorizing the president of the University of Tabuk, or a deputy, to hold talks with the King Salman International University (KSIU), in the Arab Republic of Egypt, regarding a draft memorandum of understanding concerning research, academic work and training between the two universities.
Eighth: Authorizing the attorney general, or a deputy, to hold talks with the Omani side on a draft memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Public Prosecution and its Omani counterpart in the field of judicial and legal cooperation.
Ninth: Authorizing the supervisor general of the National Center for Archives and Records, or a deputy, to hold talks with the Royal Hashemite Documentation Center in Jordan about a draft memorandum of understanding in the field of document archiving.
Tenth: Approving a by-law concerning the rights of persons with disabilities.
Eleventh: Approving organizational arrangements for the Investment Council.
Twelfth: For those who lose their vehicles, the state shall bear the fees and fines incurred on that vehicle until it is found, starting from the date of vehicle loss notification, with the stipulation that the state will pass those fees and fines onto the thief, if the vehicle is stolen, or frauds who are the real owners of those vehicles.
Thirteenth: Amending Paragraph E of the first item of the Cabinet Decision No. 1270 of Thul Qadah 12, 1392 Hijri, regarding the rules guiding the implementation of articles 21 and 23 of the Roads and Buildings By-law.
Fourteenth: Renewing the memberships of members of the board of directors of the Saudia Airline.
Fifteenth: Amending Article 28 of the Army Personnel Service By-law and Paragraph A of Item 12 concerning Implementing Regulations of the Army Personnel Service By-law related to the relocation allowance, to read "as stipulated in the decision".
Sixteenth: Approving the final statements of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, Education and Training Evaluation Commission, and Shaqra University for the two previous financial years.
Seventeenth: Approving a number of promotions to the 15th and 14th ranks.
