TOP BIZMAN LENDS PRIVATE JET TO KALLA
Jayapura, Indonesia, June 20 (ANTARA) - Noted businessman Aburizal Bakrie has lent his private Boeing Business Jet 737-800 to presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla for use in campaigning.
"Yes, Ical (Aburizal Bakrie) has allowed me to use it for free," Kalla said at Sentani airport here on Saturday.
Kalla said with it he could arrive quicker at Jayapura without transit.
When asked if it meant that Aburizal Bakrie started to support him, Kalla said that Ical had always supported him. "He has supported me for quite a long time," he said.
It was reported earlier that Aburizal Bakrie, Agung Laksono and Akbar Tanjung known as Group AAA, who are figures of Kalla's Golkar Party had held a series of meetings with regional party leaders seen as part of their efforts to deflate support for Kalla in his bid to win the presidential race with Wiranto as his running mate on July 8.
Kalla's national campaign team chief Yuddy Chrisnandi thanked Aburizal for lending the private jet to Kalla. Yuddi said Golkar Party is solid to support Kalla.
Kalla would fly to Bali after campaigning in Papua and later to Central Java for the same purpose.
Kalla who is the incumbent vice president, would meet incumbent president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and former president Megawati in the race. ***
