Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Opens UPU Strategy Summit

Riyadh, October 04, 2023, SPA -- Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the UPU Fourth Extraordinary Congress, the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, Eng. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, opened the UPU Strategy Summit, which saw the participation of representatives from 192 countries including ministers, ambassadors, and heads of postal sectors.
During his speech, Eng. Al-Jasser expressed his delight at the presence of influential decision-makers in the summit, aimed at advancing progress and innovation within the industry. He highlighted the potential opportunities for growth and expansion through meticulous planning, ensuring the industry's future development and sustainability.
"By 2030, we aim that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be one of the top ten countries in the Logistics Performance Index, and we plan to achieve this goal by establishing 59 logistics zones and increasing port capacity to accommodate more than 40 million containers", he added.
