OIC Secretary-General Strongly Condemns Israeli Bombardment of Baptist Hospital, Stresses It Represents War Crime Worthy of Punishment
Jeddah, October 18, 2023, SPA -- Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hissein Brahim Taha strongly condemned the horrific massacre perpetrated by the Israeli occupation by bombing the Baptist Al-Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the loss of hundreds of martyrs and injured many innocent civilians.
He considered this action a war crime that contradicts all human values and is also considered organized state terrorism that deserves accountability and punishment.
In his speech delivered at the urgent open-ended emergency extraordinary meeting of the Executive Committee of the OIC at the ministerial level at the headquarters of the organization's General Secretariat in Jeddah to discuss the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, the secretary-general expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people and constant support to their legitimate fight for receiving their right to self-determination and establishing their independent, sovereign state.
He stressed the need for joint efforts to halt Israel's unprecedented aggression and to ensure that humanitarian corridors are opened to facilitate access to medicines, foodstuff and basic needs of the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion, he expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for convening the extraordinary meeting. He noted that the invitation is an extension of the Kingdom's firm positions in support of Islamic causes, foremost among which is the Palestinian cause.
