International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition Concludes

Riyadh, October 15, 2023, SPA -- The fifth International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition has concluded its 10-day activities, having been visited by over 550,000 people from the Kingdom and abroad.
Saudi Falcons Club spokesman Walid Al-Taweel said that the diversity of the activities held during the exhibition was one of the factors that attracted citizens, residents, diplomats and tourists to the exhibition, which presented everything related to falconry, hunting, trips and camping.
Government and private bodies participated in showing the activities, achievements and initiatives related to falcons.
Al-Taweel underscored the importance of the exhibition, which has become a seasonal cultural and entertainment destination for all families, and an important contributor to the economy, as well as the efforts to preserve and transmit this authentic heritage and traditional hobby to future generations.
According to Al-Taweel, the exhibition focused on promoting falconry through more than 20 pavilions, including one dedicated to the display and sale of hunting weapons, the first point in the Kingdom for such sales. At another pavilion, equipment and tools for camping and trips were sold, one other was specifically designed for modified cars, motorcycles, and bicycles, yet another, called "Future Falconers", catered to children, while "Shalayel" digital museum provided visitors with an immersive educational experience into the world of falcons.
According to Al-Taweel, the exhibition was attended by a group of falconry specialists who came up with several recommendations, including on how to protect falcons and their preys, educate communities to transmit this heritage to younger generations, encourage and support the creation of falcon breeding and production centres, support research and survey, and encourage falconers to participate in programs to release falcons.
The Saudi Falcons Club, Al-Taweel said, will hold the sixth King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival, the most prominent and largest event of its kind in the world, from November 28 to December 14, 2023, targeting hundreds of falconers from various countries.
