Abu Dhabi June 24, 2009 (WAM) - Minister of State for the Federal National Council Affairs Dr. Anwar Gargash highlighted the importance of unified efforts and greater collaboration among the UAE official organizations to accomplish further success and strengthen the international stature of the UAE.
He praised the commitment of the members of Federal National Council (FNC) in addressing key national issues discussed at the Federal National Council sessions. He said that issues addressed at the FNC were of particular significance as the Council is collaborating closely with executive institutions and government bodies to progress the action plans and deal with vital social issues that need prompt action and appropriate solutions.
The Minister stressed the government's keen interest in enhancing federal frameworks as well as performance systems at the federal level. "This session witnessed discussions of strategic subjects that are of great importance to the performance of our national institutions, and reiterated our commitment to improve all mechanisms related to governmental work," he added.
Commenting on the discussions on the policies adopted by the Ministry of Culture and Community Development, Gargash praised the ministry's professionalism and achievements thanks to its clear strategy and programmes in place. He reiterated the role of the ministry in strengthening national identity awareness, citing the cooperation between the Ministry, other federal and local authorities as well as private entities in pushing for the social and culture development of the UAE community.
"By passing the latest draft laws the FNC proves once again its important standing in the political scene and its concrete contribution in several fields touching the citizen's living standards and well being. The FNC works to enhance social offerings and has energized legislations related to the marriage fund," Director General of the MSFNCA Tariq Lootah said.
The discussions, he added, reflect the members' commitment to clarify the general frameworks of important draft laws such as the closing account and public debt, and to work to provide legislative support to executive official institutions and enable them to carry with development projects in the country."
