PM Discusses With the Commander of NATO The File of Logistical Support After the Withdrawal of the Int'l Coalition to Fight ISIS

Baghdad / NINA / -Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani discussed with the Commander of the NATO Joint Forces, Admiral Stuart Munch, logistical support for the NATO mission in Iraq, after the withdrawal of the international coalition to fight ISIS.

 A statement from his media office stated that Al-Sudani received, today, Friday, the Commander of the Joint Forces of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Admiral Stuart Munch, on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich Security Conference 2024.

 The meeting witnessed, according to the statement, a review of the overall security situation in the region, and cooperation between the NATO mission and the Iraqi security authorities, especially in the field of training and intelligence coordination. A number of issues were also discussed regarding logistical support for the NATO mission operating in Iraq, after the withdrawal of the international coalition to fight ISIS, and the Netherlands will assume leadership of the NATO mission next May."

 According to the statement, the Prime Minister praised the level of cooperation between the Iraqi armed forces and NATO, and coordination in enhancing regional and international security and stability.

 For his part, Admiral Munch expressed his appreciation for the facilities and support provided by the government to the NATO mission operating in Iraq./End
