SBY-BOEDIONO BILLBOARDS DOMINATE DENPASAR
Denpasar, June 25 (ANTARA) - Billboards and street banners of presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate Boediono (SBY-Boediono) dominate Denpasar city and environs.
The pictures of Yudhoyono and Boediono on the billboards and the street banners also are more impressive than those of the two other pairs , namely Megawati Soekarnoputri and her running mate Prabowo Subianto, and Jusuf Kalla and his running mate Wiranto.
Billboards and street banners with Yudhoyono and Boediono's pictures can be seen in many corners across Denpasar city .
A spokesman of the Denpasar chapter of the Yudhoyono-Boediono success team, Anak Agung Alit, said the SBY-Boediono billboards and street banners were so prominent and numerous thanks to the active participation and cooperation of Yudhoyono's supporters and sympathizers in the island resort of Bali.
He said Democratic Party legislative candidates who prevailed in the past legislative election had taken the initiative to set up the SBY-Boediono billboards and street banners.
According to Anak Agung, nine of the 45 seats in the Bali Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD) for the 2009-2014 period were won by Democratic Party candidates.
The nine legislative candidates from the Democratic Party cooperated in setting up the billboards and street banners at strategic corners of Denpasar city.
Anak Agung said that besides the billboards and street banners, thousands of T-shirts with Yudhoyono and Boediono's picture on them had been distributed all over Bali.
He said added that for Denpasar Barat subdistrict alone with 43 villages, around 30,000 T-shirts had been distributed.
The T-shirts were provided by the SBY-Boediono success team in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Bali General Election Commission (KPU) member Udi Prayudi said presidential aspirants Yudhoyono and Megawati Soekarnoputri were scheduled to hold campaign dialogs in Bali on Saturday (June 27) and Sunday (June 29) respectively.
Before Yudhoyono and Megawati's campaigns in Bali, the third candidate Jusuf Kalla had his turn in the resort island last Saturday (June 29) and Sunday (June 21).
