The President Of The Republic Confirms The Strength Of Relations Between Iraq And Italy

Baghdad / NINA / -The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed today, Sunday, the importance of coordination and consultation to enhance security and stability in the region.

The Presidency's Media Office stated in a statement, "The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, the Italian Ambassador to Iraq, Maurizio Cricanti."

The statement explained, "During the meeting, the president stressed the strength of the relations between Iraq and Italy, and the necessity of continuing to work to strengthen them in areas of common interest."

He pointed out "the importance of coordination and consultation to enhance security and stability in the region, and to make more efforts to reduce tensions and stop the war on Gaza."

For his part, Ambassador Maurizio Cricanti stressed his country's keenness to strengthen existing relations with Iraq, and Italy's support for Iraq's stability, security, and safety of its citizens."/End
