Al-Maliki And The Iranian Ambassador Discuss Developments In The Regional And International Political And Security Situation

Baghdad /NINA/- The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq the latest developments in the regional and international political and security situation.

 

A statement by the media office of the head of the State of Law coalition stated, “The head of the coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, received in his office, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Muhammad Kazem Al Sadiq, and discussed with him the latest developments in the political and security situation taking place in the regional and international arenas, in addition to a number of issues and files of common interest.”

 

The head of the State of Law coalition pointed to "the depth of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tehran and the necessity of strengthening them in various fields," stressing that "Iraq is open in its relations with all countries of the region and seeks cooperation and work in everything that would consolidate the security of Iraq and the stability of the region."

 

In turn, Ambassador Al Sadiq renewed his country's position in support of Iraq in protecting its security and stability," stressing "the Iranian leadership's keenness to strengthen relations between the two countries in various fields, and expand joint cooperation in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Iraqi and Iranian peoples."/End
