GCC States Call for Ending War in Gaza

Geneva, March 26, 2024, SPA -- The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states expressed their rejection of any justification or excuse for continued Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.
They called on the international community to take necessary measures to end the war, ensure the permanent delivery of humanitarian aid, and hold accountable those responsible for the violations committed against the Palestinian people.
This came in a joint statement today by the GCC countries, represented by Qatar at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) interactive dialogue with special rapporteur Francesca Albanese on the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Qatar stated that the Israeli occupying power's ongoing use of the weapon of starvation, preventing access to humanitarian aid, and threatening to invade the city of Rafah cannot be tolerated.
The GCC urged the international community to overcome double standards and halt the genocide and serious violations perpetrated by the Israeli killing machine against the Palestinian people.
Additionally, the GCC countries commended the efforts of the special rapporteur in documenting the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation, condemned any attempts to hinder her work, and called upon the rapporteur to continue her mandated role entrusted to her by the UNHRC.
