PAPUA PEOPLE EXPECT SBY-BOEDIONO'S ELECTORAL VICTORY

Jayapura, June 27 (ANTARA) - The people of Papua are looking forward to presidential aspirant Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate Boedion (SBY-Boediono duo) victory in the July 8 presidential election.

"The people in Papua are expecting SBY-Boediono's victory as the next president and vice president for 2009-2014 period," Democratic Party's Advisory Board spokesman Freddy Numbery said in a campaign with Boediono here on Saturday.

Numberi said emotional relations between Yudhoyono and the people of Papua had increased their willingness to vote for SBY-Boediono duo in the upcoming presidential election.

"The presence of all Papua public elements in this campaign shows that they are willing to support for SBY-Boediono's victory in the election on July 8, 2009," Numberi said.

He said the people in Papua wanted Yudhoyono to lead this nation in the next period, and therefore they had made a commitment to voting for him in the election.

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Jusuf Kalla and his running mate Wiranto (JK-Win duo) are also projected to win in the July election in Papua province.

JK-Win Archipelagic Rainbow Team spokesman Samsudin Manja said here on Saturday the Association of South Sulawesi People in Papua (KKSS Papua) would make all-out efforts to help the duo gain electoral victory in Indonesia's easternmost province.

"All members of KKSS in Papua are resolved to support the JK-Win pair in the July 8 presidential election. Therefore, they will continue to form a front to make their dream of a JK-Win victory come true," Manja said.

He said KKSS enclaves in Papua, especially in the districts of Mimika, Jayapura, Jayawijaya, Merauke, and several other regions were ready to vote for the Jusuf Kalla-Wiranto pair in the election.

"The JK-Win Rainbow Team has also visited KKSS enclaves to monitor the possibility of fraud in the voter's lists whereby KKSS members would be prevented from casting their ballots in the upcoming election," Manja said, adding that KKSS had strengthened its commitment to supporting the JK-Win duo.

He said possible fraud in voter's lists should be anticipated so that the KKSS support for the JK-Win duo could not be made to splinter.
