Yogyakarta, June 28 (ANTARA) - Malaysian Defense Minister Datuk Sri Dr Zahid bin Hamidi met Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X who happened also to be the King of the Ngayogyakarta Hadiningrat Palace, Gedhong Jene, in the Yogyakarta Palace Complex on Sunday.
The one-hour meeting between the two leaders was held behind closed doors. But in the meeting they did not touch on political issues, both in Indonesia and in Malayia, as well as the
Ambalat block.
"We did not touch on the Ambalat issue, as the meeting was merely an encounter between old friends for old time sake, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X said following the meeting.
He said the Ambalat issue was not supposed to be discussed by regional administration heads, but rather by the central government. "Discussing the Ambalat block issue is not my beyond by task, but that of the central government," the Sultan said.
He said that before becoming Defense Minister, Datuk Sri Dr Zahid bin Hamidi was Minister of Tourism, and had greatly contributed to the development of Malaysia-Indonesias tourism sector, especially when it came to Yogyakarta.***5***
