UAE, US anti-drug cooperation discussed

Abu Dhabi, June 29, 2009 (WAM) - Director General of Criminal Security at the UAE Ministry of Interior Major General Khamis Bin Suwaif and Douglas Frantz and John Kiriakou, members of the U.S. Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on Sunday discussed ways to further promote cooperation between the UAE and USA. At today's meeting which also discussed issues of common concern, Kiriakou and Frantz were briefed on cooperation between the Ministry and relative security bodies in the U.S. and Europe.
Present at the meeting were Acting Attaché for the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Eward Smith, Director of International Criminal Cooperation at the Ministry of Interior Major Ali Al-Khayyal and Acting Director General of Anti-narcotics Department at the Ministry Major Abdul Rehman Al-Owais.
