FINAL ROUND PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANTS DEBATE ON THURSDAY NIGHT

Jakarta, July 2 (ANTARA) - The third and the final round of the presidential aspirants debate will be organized here on Thursday night.

Themed "The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), Democracy, and Regional Autonomy", the debate to be moderated by Pratikno and broadcast live by a private TV station, will start at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. local time.

General Elections Commission (KPU) member I Gusti Putu Artha said the final round of the debate tonight would be different from the previous ones.

He said format of the third session or the final round of the presidential candidates' debates would be changed by omitting the session for the vision and mission of each candidate.

Putu Artha said that by omitting the session for the vision and mission of each presidential candidate by the moderator, the final round of the debate would last longer.

The moderator, according to him, would skip the vision and mission intensification and directly come to the debate session so it would last longer.

With extra time in the final round of the debate, the atmosphere is expected to be more dynamic because the moderator will ask six questions to a certain candidate and then the other ones will respond to them.

Putu Artha said the moderator was expected to arrange the questions in such a way to reach the climax of the last question.

"We ask the moderator to intensify the question and to reach the climax with the last question," Putu Artha said, adding that the change in the final round debate format had been agreed on by each presidential candidate.

The first and second rounds of the KPU-organized presidential candidate debate were conducted consecutively on June 18 with the theme, "To Realize Good and Clean Governance Management and to Enforce Human Rights and Legal Supremacy", and on June 25 with the theme "Unemployment and Poverty Eradication," with Aviliani as moderator.
