INDODNESIAN AMONG YEMENIA PLANE CRASH VICTIMS

Jakarta, July 1 (ANTARA) - An Indonesian woman identified with her initials RM had been reported as among the dead victims of the Yemenia airlines Airbus A310-300 which went down in rough ocean near the Comoros in the Indian Ocean on June 30.

She was one of the ill-fated aircraft's stewardesses. Right now information is still awaited from the Yemeni airline authorities on the fate of the plane crash victims, as the search is still being conducted intensively," Foreign Ministry spokesman Teuku Faizasyah said in Jakarta Wednesday.

He said that the family and relatives of the woman, who hailed from Magetan, East Java, had already been informed of the accident. The Indonesian government is thinking of sending her relatives to the place where they can seek for information on the fate of the stewardess.

The Airbus which plunged into the sea in rough weather and sea had 142 passengers and a crew of 11 on board.

"So far, only a 14-year old girl had been reported as the only survivor in the accident. The young girl is now under treatment at a hospital in Moroni, capital of the Comoros, and her condition has significantly improved, said Ramulati Ben Ali of the local Red Cross office.

A man, who has saved the girl informed French Radio, Europe 1, that the girl was swimming in rough sea among floating dead bodies and debris of the sunken plane at 2 a.m, or 8 a.m in Jakarta.
