SOME 19 LABOR ORGANIZATIONS SUPPORT SBY-BOEDIONO

Jakarta, July 3 (ANTARA) - At least 19 labor organizations have declared their full support for presidential candidate Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his running mate Boediono (SBY-Boediono duo) in the July election.

The declaration was made by the leaders of 19 labor/worker organizations here on Friday.

The leaders of the organizations are among others National Workers Union Federation (FSPN) chairman Bambang Wirahyoso, All-Indonesian Workers Union Confederation (KSPSI) chairman Albion Sidabutar, Indonesian Migrant Workers Association (SBMI) chairman Miftah Farid, and Indonesian Workers Association (ASPEK) chairman Muhammad Hakim.

Indonesian Independent Workers Union (Gaspermindo) chairman Jumhur Hidayat was one of the 19 leaders who support SBY-Boediono pair but he was not present at the declaration because of his tight schedule as the chief of National Board for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TKI).

"I was absent but I have also signed the declaration to support SBY-Boediono," Jumhur Hidayat said in a press statement.

The declaration was read out by National Workers Union Federation (FSPN) chairman Bambang Wirahyoso who said that SBY-Boediono duo had a commitment to seriously enforcing the manpower regulation in the country.

In the declaration, they also said Yudhoyono and Boediono had a commitment to improving the function of manpower supervisory institution, applying the wage standard in accordance with adequate living standard, and having PT Jamsostek play its role in the improvement of people's welfare.

Meawhile, Yudhoyono said in his previous electoral campaign that his vision and mission were not a mere promise but had been proven during his presidency in the 2004-2009 term.

In an outdoor campaign at H Agus Salim sport stadium in Padang, West Sumatra, recently, Yudhoyono said his vision and mission if he was re-elected, would be continued and even stepped up in the next five years.

"The vision and mission to improve people's welfare was not a promise or just a discourse, but which had been carried out with concrete results," Yudhoyono said.

He said the five programs in his vision and mission for the next five years was to improve economic development for people's welfare, to build a clean and good government to give better service to the people, to build a good democracy and politics for all people, to continue law enforcement including corruption eradication, and to implement an equitable, fair, and balanced development for all the people.
