IPB TO PRESENT CITATION TO ITS WORLD CLASS STUDENTS
Bogor, W Java, July 5 (ANTARA) - Bogor Institute of Agriculture (IPB) will present citation as a form of appreciation on the achievements reached by its students at the world level competition in the United States, a spokesman said.
A team of five IPB's students namely Galih Nugroho, Ari Try Purbayanto, Riza Aris Apriady, Kamalita Pertiwi and Catherine Haryasyah, ranked third in the food innovation competition organized by "the Institute of Food Technologist" in the US, Henny Windarti, MSi, the IPB's spokesman said here on Sunday.
"The presentation function of the citation to the world-class students will also be attended by the Minister of Agriculture Anton
Apriyantono on Monday (July 6)," Henny said, however, she did not mention the form of the citation to be awarded to the IPB's students.
The food innovation competition was participated in by 16 teams among others from China, Italy, South Africa, The Netherland and
Lebanon.
Champion of the competition was the team from the Netherland's Wageningen University, and followed by a team from Pretoria University, South Africa, she said.
The IPB's team in the competition which took place on June 8, 2009 exposed their food reseach results entitled "Healthy
Instant Noodle from Corn with High Protein and Rich for Pregnant Women to Prevent loss Generation in South East Asia".
Results of the IPB students team's research was a product of innovation of instant noodles made from corn to overcome the nutrition problems especially for pregnant women in Southeast Asia.
In addition, Henny Windarti said that the students will also
demonstrate their production of corn noodles in the near future. *** 5 ***
