Baghdad / NINA /- Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani affirmed Iraq's clear and firm position in respecting the choices of the Syrian people, with all their components and sects, and in ensuring Syria's security and stability, which will reflect on the security and stability of the region.

The Prime Minister's Media Office stated in a statement: "al-Sudani received today, Friday, the Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani. During the meeting, they emphasized Iraq's clear and firm position in respecting the choices of the Syrian people, with all their components and sects, and in ensuring Syria's security and stability, which will reflect on the security and stability of the region. In this regard, the importance of continuing political and security consultations between the two countries was emphasized."

According to the statement, al-Sudani stressed the necessity of proceeding with a comprehensive political process that preserves diversity and social peace, and the importance of respecting the beliefs and sanctities of all groups and segments of the Syrian people, and not accepting any attacks or violations against any of their components.
