PM Stresses The Importance Of Establishing An Iraqi-Indian Economic Cooperation Council

Baghdad /NINA/ -Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani stressed the importance of establishing an Iraqi-Indian Economic Cooperation Council.
A statement from his media office said, "Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received the new Indian Ambassador to Iraq, Somen Bagchi, today, Sunday."
At the beginning of the meeting, al-Sudani congratulated the ambassador on assuming his duties. Bilateral relations in various fields, prospects for developing and expanding mutual cooperation, and the holding of the 19th round of meetings of the Iraqi-Indian Joint High Committee were also discussed.
The Prime Minister affirmed Iraq's keenness to strengthen relations with India, highlighting the importance of establishing an Iraqi-Indian Economic Cooperation Council, activating the Iraqi-Indian Business Council, organizing visits by Indian companies to Iraq to explore available investment opportunities, and enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of both countries.
Al-Sudani noted Iraq's aspiration to join the India-based International Solar Alliance, which aims to address the effects of climate change by promoting the use of solar energy.
For his part, the Indian ambassador noted the depth and history of Iraqi-Indian relations, emphasizing the desire of Indian companies to operate in Iraq and strengthen the partnership between the two friendly countries./ End
