Pristine Sky of Northern Borders Region a Stargazer’s Paradise

Arar, May 09, 2025, SPA – The sky over Northern Borders Region ranks among the most favorable locations for astronomy and astrophotography, thanks to minimal light pollution and low humidity. These exceptional conditions provide clear views of celestial bodies and stars.
According to space and astronomy experts, the region recently witnessed several notable astronomical events, including the passage of Comet A3 and Comet G3, as well as various lunar phases and planetary conjunctions.
Enthusiasts have captured stunning images—such as a high-altitude passenger airplane appearing to fly behind the moon—highlighting the region’s extraordinary sky clarity.
Light pollution, defined as the excessive or misdirected spread of artificial light, significantly impairs nighttime visibility, posing a major challenge for astronomers. It negatively impacts the environment and public health and reduces the quality of astronomical observation and imaging.
