Chinese President Congratulates Iraq And Arab Countries On The Success Of The Arab Summit

Baghdad/NINA/ -President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping congratulated Iraq and the Arab countries on the success of the Arab Summit held in the capital, Baghdad, stressing that the second China-Arab Summit, to be held in China in 2026, will be another important milestone in the history of China-Arab relations.

In a letter sent to Iraqi President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Xi said, "I am pleased to extend my sincere congratulations to Your Excellency, the leaders of the Arab countries, and the League of Arab States on the occasion of the 34th session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level."

He noted, "Since its founding 80 years ago, the League of Arab States has sought to promote unity and self-strengthening among the Arab world, actively voices the unified voice of the Arab countries, and works to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the Middle East."

The Chinese President explained, "Amid rapid changes unseen in the world in a century, and the complex changes currently taking place in the Middle East, Arab countries are committed to independence, promoting development and progress, and advocating for justice and fairness, which has played a positive role in strengthening the momentum of the Global South."

He noted, "Relations between China and Arab countries have witnessed flourishing development in recent years, setting a model for solidarity and cooperation among developing countries. During our attendance at the first China-Arab States Summit in December 2022, I and the leaders of Arab countries unanimously agreed to work with all our efforts to build a China-Arab community of shared future for the new era."

He continued, "I am confident that the second China-Arab States Summit, to be held in China in 2026, will be another important milestone in the history of China-Arab relations."

The Chinese President stressed that "China and Arab countries have always viewed their relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, looking to the future. China will remain a reliable friend and partner of Arab countries, firmly standing by the just Arab causes. China is keen to make joint efforts with Arab countries to deepen mutual political trust, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, enhance people-to-people and cultural communication, and move forward hand in hand on the path of modernization for each of them, and build a China-Arab community with a shared future at a higher level."/End
