KOTRA discusses AI, SW collaboration with Ukraine delegation

SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) -- The Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) said Tuesday it has held talks with a Ukrainian information technology (IT) delegation to explore ways to enhance cooperation in artificial intelligence (AI) and software.
The delegation, composed of officials from Ukraine's largest IT association, is visiting South Korea for five days through Friday.
During a meeting at KOTRA's headquarters in southern Seoul, both sides shared their visions for the IT ecosystem, innovation, digital transformation and cybersecurity. They agreed to lay the groundwork for mid- to long-term bilateral cooperation, according to KOTRA.
The Ukrainian representatives also held discussions with officials from Korean IT firms at the Korea Software Industry Association.
Despite the ongoing war, KOTRA continues to operate its office in Kyiv, Ukraine's capital, in an effort to maintain economic ties with the Eastern European country.
"We hope the delegation's visit will expand bilateral cooperation in AI and software and lead to successful joint projects between companies," said Kim Myung-hee, vice president at KOTRA.
