Ministry Of Culture Announces Reductions In Transportation, Hotel, And Restaurant Fees To Support Tourism In Iraq

Baghdad / NINA /-The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities announced a package of incentive measures to support and revitalize the tourism sector in Iraq, including reducing air fares and hotel and restaurant prices. This comes as part of an expanded government plan to advance tourism and enhance its role in supporting the national economy.

 

Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Fakkak Al-Badrani, confirmed in a statement: "The ministry, in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and Iraqi Airways, has begun implementing a comprehensive program aimed at opening new tourist cities, restoring archaeological sites, operating the ministry's hotels, and providing the necessary facilities for tourists by reducing travel and accommodation costs."

 

He explained: "Iraq possesses multiple tourism components, including archaeological, religious, recreational, and medical tourism, which makes the country an attractive destination for tourists from various Arab and foreign countries."

 

Al-Badrani added that the coming period will witness the launch of offers from hotels and restaurants to provide discounted packages, including the provision of traditional dishes in Baghdad, Mosul, and Basra, which will contribute to enriching the experience of Arab and foreign tourists, and enhance Iraq's position on the regional and international tourism map./End
