Deputy Speaker: Iraq's Sovereignty Is Above All Considerations... And We Will No Longer Remain Silent Regarding The Violation Of Our Airspace And The Encroachment Of Our Lands

Baghdad/NINA/-Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi stressed that Iraq's sovereignty is above all considerations, and there will be no more silence regarding the violation of our airspace and the encroachment on our lands.
In a statement, al-Mandalawi called on the Parliament Presidency to call for an urgent extraordinary session, devoted entirely to discuss the repercussions of the dangerous military escalation in the region, and the accompanying treacherous Zionist aggression targeting the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran through Iraqi airspace. He added “This is a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and a direct threat to the country's security and stability.”
Al-Mandalawi stressed that "this dangerous transgression cannot be accepted or overlooked, as violating Iraqi airspace and exploiting it to carry out aggressive attacks on neighboring countries constitutes an extremely dangerous precedent, threatening to drag Iraq into regional conflicts that do not serve its supreme interests and are inconsistent with its firm positions in supporting peace and security in the region."
Al-Mandalawi reiterated the House of Representatives' categorical rejection of turning Iraq into an arena for settling scores or a conduit for aggression, stressing that Iraqi sovereignty is not subject to compromise or division, and that our national security is above all considerations. He also expressed the country's full solidarity with the Islamic Republic of Iran in confronting this criminal aggression, and offered his sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs and innocent victims.
At the end of his statement, Al-Mandalawi called on the Iraqi government, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, and relevant authorities to urgently intensify efforts at the diplomatic and legal levels regarding the results of the official complaint submitted to the Security Council against the Zionist entity, in order to preserve the prestige of the state and defend the sanctity of airspace and national sovereignty./ End
