President Rashid Reaffirms Iraq’s Commitment to Dialogue and Regional Stability

Baghdad /NINA/-President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, reaffirmed today, Thursday, Iraq’s commitment to dialogue, peaceful solutions, and joint efforts to maintain regional stability, emphasizing the importance of de-escalation and enhanced cooperation among neighboring countries.
According to a presidential statement, the President received the UN Secretary-General’s representative in Iraq, Mohamed Al-Hassan, at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, where they discussed the latest regional developments and their implications for security and stability.
During the meeting, President Rashid stressed the need to intensify efforts to contain crises and reduce tensions in a manner that preserves peace and promotes sustainable development for the peoples of the region. He also praised the United Nations’ role in supporting de-escalation efforts and contributing to sustainable solutions, in addition to promoting the principles of peaceful coexistence and international cooperation.
For his part, Al-Hassan reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to working closely with Iraq to enhance stability, overcome current challenges, and support its development programs and peace-building initiatives in the region./ End
