Saudi Arabia Marks World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, Reaffirms Commitment to Global Efforts

Jeddah, July 30, 2025, SPA -- Saudi Arabia joins the international community in marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, observed annually on July 30, as designated by the United Nations General Assembly in 2013. The day aims to raise awareness about human trafficking, mobilize international efforts to confront the crime, and support the essential role of human rights organizations and humanitarian initiatives in addressing its consequences.
The Kingdom reaffirms its commitment to combating all forms of human trafficking by raising awareness, protecting victims’ rights, and enhancing global cooperation to dismantle criminal networks that exploit individuals. The observance also underscores the importance of community engagement in prevention efforts, bringing perpetrators to justice, and ensuring access to medical, psychological, and legal services for victims.
Recognizing human trafficking as a grave violation of human dignity, Saudi Arabia has enacted and continues to enhance legislation aligned with international standards, including the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Law, Labor Law, and Anti-Cyber Crime Law. The Kingdom also maintains cooperative agreements with international organizations to exchange expertise and share information, contributing to meaningful progress in the fight against trafficking.
To reinforce its efforts, the Kingdom has launched a broad array of awareness programs and educational initiatives, strengthened labor protection regulations, and implemented preventive strategies. It regularly organizes seminars and workshops to educate the public and stakeholders on the scope of human trafficking and the comprehensive approaches needed to eliminate it.
