Iran invites Pakistani businessmen to invest in its free zones

Islamabad, IRNA – A delegation from the Supreme Council of the Free Trade-Industrial and Special Economic Zones has discussed initiatives to deepen economic cooperation with Pakistan and invited its businessmen to invest in Iran's free zones.
The delegation, comprising the council’s Secretary Reza Masrour, met with officials of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as a group of prominent Pakistani businessmen on Sunday, which marks the second day of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s official visit to Pakistan.
The two sides agreed on organizing joint exhibitions and cross-border trade initiatives as well as the establishment of a joint border free zone as part of measures to enhance mutual cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.
They also agreed to strengthen cooperation in trade, joint investments, and industrial collaboration, emphasizing the need for mutually beneficial economic initiatives.
Reza Masrour elaborated on the vast potential of Iran's free trade zones, particularly Chabahar Free Zone, and invited Pakistani businessmen to visit and explore investment opportunities in Iran.
The Iranian delegation proposed that bilateral cooperation is enhanced through a memorandum of understanding between Chabahar Free Zone and the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Pakistani officials expressed solidarity with the Iranian people over the 12-day war imposed by the Israeli regime in mid-June, and extended their condolences to the families of the victims of the war.
Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, also invited Iran to participate in the international industrial exhibition that will be held by the chamber next month.
