Al-Mandalawi, U.S. Chargé d'Affaires Discuss Regional Developments and Ways to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Baghdad / NINA /- First Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, met today with the Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, Steven Fagin, to discuss the latest developments on the local and regional scenes, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
According to a statement from Al-Mandalawi’s media office, both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and the United States in a way that serves the interests of both friendly nations, based on the principle of mutual respect.
The talks also touched upon Iraq’s efforts to sign bilateral economic agreements with various countries in the region and around the world, as part of its economic openness and pursuit of international partnerships.
The meeting further addressed the escalating risks in the Middle East, with Al-Mandalawi stressing the need for major powers to take a firm stance to halt the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and to ensure the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip./ End
