PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV CONGRATULATES FRENCH COUNTERPART ON COUNTRY`S BASTILLE DAY

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory message to his French counterpart Nicolas Sarkozy on the country`s national holiday - Bastille Day.
“We attach special importance to the Azerbaijan-France relationship. I am very glad that over the past years our relations have developed successfully and led to expanded and diverse cooperation. There is a fruitful cooperation between our countries both on the bilateral level and within international organizations and projects. In this context, we express satisfaction with your country`s support for our steps towards integration into Europe and Azerbaijan`s participation in programs being carried out by the European Union. We also express great hopes for France`s efforts, as an OSCE Minsk Group`s Co-Chair country, towards settling the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh peacefully and on the basis of norms of international law.
The Azerbaijani President extended to the French leader his best wishes and the people of France peace and prosperity.
