The President of the Republic Discusses With Al-Hassan The Role Of The UN Mission In Supporting Stability In Iraq

Baghdad / NINA /- President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid discussed on Monday with the United Nations Secretary-General’s representative in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, ways to enhance the role of the UN mission in supporting stability and development in the country.
A presidential statement said that the meeting, held at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, addressed the domestic situation and the mission’s role in consolidating stability and supporting development paths, in addition to exploring mechanisms to expand cooperation and joint coordination with the international organization.
The two sides also reviewed regional developments. President Rashid stressed Iraq’s commitment to continuing its efforts to promote dialogue and understanding among regional states, highlighting the importance of the UN’s role in supporting regional peace, security, and stability.
For his part, Al-Hassan reaffirmed the United Nations’ commitment to supporting Iraq across various fields, emphasizing continued cooperation to help achieve the country’s developmental goals and reinforce stability./ End
